Stefania Serafin is a professor at the Department of Architecture, Design and Media technology at Aalborg University in Copenhagen.
She completed her master's degree in acoustics, computer science and signal processing applied to music, from IRCAM (Paris). She received her PhD in computer-based music theory and acoustics from Stanford University in 2004. In this talk, Stefania will present what are the challenges and opportunities encountered when designing sounds for extended realities. She will also present some of the projects they are currently running in their Multisensory Experience lab at Aalborg University in Copenhagen (https://melcph.create.aau.dk) specifically on the use of XR to help individuals with different hearing abilities.
